Many, many people had been accumulating things to recycle...

Double lines of cars ran from the recycling center gate near St. Mary's Road,

north to the turnoff a bit south of Kirby,

eastward to Oak Street,

back southward along Oak Street ...

... to St. Mary's Road again.

The line also wound eastward (as a single lane) along St. Mary's Road, and then northward along First St. at least halfway back toward Kirby, though I don't have a picture of that. Comparing with a Mapquest map, that means the line of cars stretched for at least 780 meters, of which about the first 440 meters was a double lane.

My girl friend got in line soon after noon and waited about 2.5 hours before reaching the head of the line.
