Here's a qt4l-1.2-slhacks.tgz tarball containing assorted patches.
These allow it to compile on the SGI (while I hope not breaking compatibility for Linux, but have not tried) and attempt to allow operating on Quicktime movies exceeding 2GB on 32-bit machines.
Here's a note I sent to the heroinewarrior author(s?) (quicktime@altavista.net).
